Tell 'Em My People Leave Enriched (T.E.M.P.L.E.)

Film Description

Tell ‘Em My People Leave Enriched is a documentary about Lamont Nathaniel Gibson, an African-American, North Philadelphian filmmaker coming to terms with the forced changes to his home neighborhood by the expansion of his soon-to-be alma mater, Temple University. Shot during the Trump administration, and wrestling with themes of generational poverty, gentrification, and racism, T.E.M.P.L.E. follows Lamont as he studies at a university while it rearranges the landscape he once called home.

T.E.M.P.L.E. will appeal to young African-Americans raised in urban environments, as they struggle to remain loyal to their communities of origin while navigating higher educational structures that are designed to erase them. T.E.M.P.LE.will also appeal to academics studying the effects of institutional gentrification on the urban environments surrounding many campuses.
